With summer just around the corner, it's time to think about spending long weekends relaxing in the sun.

So here's here's five of the best pub gardens to enjoy in Suffolk this year. 

Unruly Pig, Woodbridge

The Unruly Pig shot to the top of the headlines in January when Estrella Damm named the Unruly Pig as the  'UK's best gastropub' for the second time in three years

The pub was commended for its "large garden with its parasol-shaded, decked seating area."

Recently pub has now also received a 2024 Harden's certificate for the "very high quality food" that it serves.

The Anchor, Walberswick

The Anchor was named as one of the best pubs to visit in the UK according to  The Telegraph this year. 

It was also named among the best spots in the UK to enjoy a meal in the open air with its large outdoor seating area. 

The Ship at Dunwich

With spaces to sit at both the front and rear of the pub, The Newbourne Fox oozes a perfect beer garden experience. 

The pub was recently voted among the best in the East of England at the National Pub and Bar Awards 2024.

The Brewers, Rattlesden

No stranger to national recognition and awards, The Brewers in Rattlesden offers both high-quality food and a crisp pint. 

This year the pub was named one of the UK's top 100 gastropubs by Estrella Damm and retained two AA rosettes.

The pub's owner Sheona Fraser said: "Retaining our AA stars and being named among the best by Estrella Damm has been completely wonderful and heartening."

Queen's Head, Bramfield

The traditional Suffolk countryside pub has a long beer garden which is bathed in sunshine all day and is also dog-friendly. 

Overlooked by the village church, the Queen's Head recently won the best pub in Suffolk and Cambridgeshire at the Muddy Stilettos awards.
