Plans for the internal refurbishment and modernisation of an east Suffolk village hall have been permitted by the district council.
East Suffolk Council has approved applicant Stuart Wilson's plans for the work, which will include the provision of additional storage for the hall in Malt Office Lane in Rumburgh, which is near Halesworth.
In approving the application for the site, planning officers for the local authority recommended a sprinkler system be installed inside the hall.
They said in their decision report: "The local planning authority has assessed the proposal against all material considerations, including planning policies and any comments that may have been received.
"The planning application has been approved in accordance with the objectives of the National Planning Policy Framework and local plan to promote the delivery of sustainable development and to approach decision taking in a positive way."
The hall is available for hire and hosts molly and belly dancing sessions, pilates, table tennis, the Women's Institute and coffee mornings, in addition to a bowls club.
