5 dogs looking for their Suffolk forever homes before summer

These dogs are at the RSCPA Suffolk Central in Martlesham and at Blue Cross Suffolk Rehoming Centre in Wherstead. 

Honey

Honey is at the Suffolk rehoming centre in Wherstead (Image: Blue Cross)Three-year-old Honey is an Alapaha Blueblood Bulldog looking for a quiet hone she can settle into. 

She loves nothing more than spending time indoors and playing with her toys and could live with another dog that is well socialised and used to boisterous breeds.

Honey can become worried by unfamiliar people so potential owners will need to visit her at the centre before she feels confident to embark on a new adventure.

At the time, Honey is looking for a home without children.

Dawn

The five-year-old Lurcher has spent more than a year in RSPCA care while they have been fighting in court to rehome her from her previous owners. 

She has been described by staff as a "beautiful girl, who loves being in the company of people and making helicopter circles with her tail whenever she greets her favourite people".

Dawn gets on well with other dogs so may be able to live with another suitably matched dog and children aged eight and over depending on a successful meet at the centre.

Due to her past working history and breed traits, Dawn will need to be kept on a lead and muzzled on walks as she has a naturally high prey drive.

Ralph

"Playful ball of energy" Ralph is a four-year-old Labrador Retriever and Border Collie Cross. 

He has been described as having a zest for life and the "perfect combination of energy and trainability."

Ralph can struggle to control his excitement levels at times, which can be lead to barking and over excitability around other dogs.

Blue Cross says he can live with older teenagers in a home with no other dogs and would benefit from walks in low dog-populated areas.

He cannot live with cats as he finds chasing them fun.

Aubrey

Aubrey was removed from a home by RSPCA inspectors with his sister (Image: RSPCA)Two-year-old Cockapoo Aubrey has not had the best start in life and can be very worried by lots of new things, including new people, traffic and sounds. 

His future family will need to be able to visit the centre regularly to spend time with him, so that he can build a relationship and learn to trust them before being taken home. 

Aubrey loves getting lots of affection and playing with his toy. He has lots of energy and love to give to the right home who can build his confidence at his pace. 

His ideal home would be in a rural area with few visitors and access to walks away from busy traffic and lots of people.

MJ

MJ is being cared for in Martlesham (Image: RSPCA)Four-year-old MJ is a crossbreed seeking new owners after her previous owner could no longer care for her.

She came into the Suffolk Central branch dirty and underweight but has put on a few kilos while in care and is at a much healthier weight. 

MJ loves being in the company of the people she knows, going for nice long walks and playing with her favourite toys. 

She will need help with a few things by using positive, reward based training and can be easily startled in certain situations. 

MJ may be able to love with suitably matched dog depending on introduction and may be able to live with children aged 13 years and over.
