Planned roadworks due to close a road for nearly two months have delayed for a second time.

The B1079 in Otley Bottom, near Otley College, was initially set to be closed while Suffolk Highways carried out urgent roadworks from Monday, May 6 to Monday, May 27.

It followed an emergency road closure installed due to deterioration caused by flooding and bad weather that hit the county.

The closure for carriageway bank stabilisation and reconstruction was due to start on Tuesday, May 28 until Tuesday, July 23 - but this has been pushed back again.

A spokesman for Suffolk Highways said: "Works have been unable to commence as planned due to Anglian Water implementing an emergency closure along the planned diversion route.

"We are currently in discussion with Anglian Water to ascertain how long they are likely to be working on the network so that we can determine what the impact will be on our program of works.

"We apologise for the delay, updates will be provided once we have a clearer idea of a revised timescale."
