A long-awaited new McDonald's is set to open in an east Suffolk retail park next week.
The new McDonald's in Martlesham Heath Retail Park will open on Wednesday, June 19, according to a company spokesperson.

The restaurant will be open 24 hours a day in the former home of Evans Cycles, despite objections from Suffolk police and Martlesham Parish Council about noise pollution, rubbish and unruly behaviour at night when the area is normally quiet.
In the application for the licence, McDonald's said: "This restaurant understands that in extending our opening hours we have a duty to the local community and that we continue to protect our staff and customers from danger and harm.

"We believe that the systems we have in place are robust, thorough and will, as far as reasonably practicable, secure the promotion of the four licensing objectives."
The new eatery will be the only facility in the area that is open 24 hours, with KFC's Martlesham restaurant closing at 11pm.
It will be the second McDonald's to open in the Ipswich area this year, following the unveiling of a branch at the Copdock Interchange.
