While on patrol this week police found a driver slumped over the wheel of a car and heavily intoxicated near a west Suffolk town.

In the early hours of Monday, June 24 a Sudbury and Haverhill police crew discovered a car parked at a junction near the town.

Upon approaching the vehicle they found the driver slumped over the wheel the car and asleep.

After waking the man up police say they then conducted a roadside breathalyser test.

The sample provided showed 106 micrograms of alcohol per one hundred millilitres in breath, which is almost three times over the legal limit, 35.
