An East England zoo has revealed its adorable new born baby monkey who is "strong and active" and has "fantastic first-time parents".
On Thursday, June 13, the animal care team at Colchester Zoo welcomed the arrival of a new baby coppery titi monkey.
The adorable baby monkey is the son of mum, Copper, and dad, Lewis, who met for the first time in January 2024 when Copper arrived from Belfast Zoo.
Colchester Zoo said: "When two coppery titi monkeys meet, they sniff each other’s face. So both Copper and Lewis must have liked what they smelt as it was only 5 months before they produced their own offspring."

Rainforest Team Member, Charlotte also said: “Copper and Lewis are proving to be fantastic first-time parents, both being very attentive to their infant and each other.
"The little one is very strong and active, climbing all over its dad’s head but Lewis is being a very patient father.”

This small species is known to be very timid and shy, however, the zoo says both the mum, dad and baby are all doing very well.
Copper, the mother, carried the baby during her pregnancy for about 132 days, however, from now on it will be the father, Lewis, that cares and carries it for around four to five months.
Its grandparents Whiskey and Colby can also be seen at the zoo along with other members of the family.
The zoo says the baby is yet to be named or identified for its sex but it will update the public with any updates.
