Megan, a two-year-old ex-racing greyhound, is looking for her forever home.

She was taken into care after starting her life as a racing greyhound in Suffolk.

Since arriving at the Blue Cross site in Ipswich she has started to show her character.

Staff at the centre said she is a "really sweet dog" who is very intelligent and loves to play with her toys. She also has a bit of a cheeky streak.

Megan is looking for a patient and loving home where she can enjoy a good daily run in a secure garden and sleep on a nice comfy bed..

Charles White, Centre Manager at Blue Cross Suffolk: “Megan has started to really come out of her shell with people she knows and learns to trust.

“With 19 more greyhounds still looking for our help in Suffolk, we are keen to help find Megan a loving home, and work our way through the next 19, ultimately looking to give them all the life they deserve, with people who love them. They make such wonderful pets, and they really do deserve that chance.”

National pet charity Blue Cross is calling for an end to greyhound racing and urging people to help them reach 100,000 petition signatures.

Becky Thwaites, Head of Public Affairs at pet charity Blue Cross, said: “We need your help. We’re racing to reach 100,000 signatures to end greyhound racing in the UK for good.

“No dog should live a miserable existence, become injured or die for sport. But according to statistics published by the Greyhound Board of Great Britain, over 26,000 injuries were suffered and 2,700 greyhounds died in England and Wales between 2018 and 2023.

“With almost 55,000 signatures already, we're making great progress, but we need you to help us cross the finish line.”
