We've made a list of five of the most picturesque dog walks in the county.
1) The Clare and Cavendish Trail
Market Hill, Clare, Sudbury CO10 8NN
This 11km trail takes you through the picturesque Stour Valley countryside between the towns of Clare and Cavendish.
There is plenty of open space to let your dog off the lead and you can enjoy the dog-friendly pub, Five Bells in Cavendish or the canine caring Cafe Clare.

2) Thetford Forest
Thetford Forest, Brandon. IP27 0TJ
A great walk for nature enthusiasts, the enchanting Thetford Forest on the Suffolk-Norfolk border provides a stunning backdrop for a pleasant walk with your dog.
It is recommended that you start at the Brandon Country Park, which offers four different walking trails, and then make your way round the rest of the forest.
3) Alton Water
Alton Water. IP9 2RY. Suffolk.
With its large reservoir, stunning woodlands, several ponds and marshes, this tranquil park is perfect for treating you and your dog to something different.
Alton Water Park boasts 400 acres of beautiful nature just 20 minutes south of Ipswich.
It also has two dog-friendly cafes, so you can grab refreshments while you enjoy the beautiful scenery.

4) Orwell Country Park
Gainsborough Ln, Ipswich IP3 0ER
With its ancient woodlands, pleasant heath and beautiful estuary, Orwell Country Park is a great spot for a walk in the Ipswich area.
Your dog will love splashing around in the River Orwell and exploring the vast green woodlands.
It is worth noting that the park is also home to a range of rare birds so it may be worth keeping your dog on the lead if they have a high prey drive.
5) Hadleigh Railway Walk
Hadleigh Railway Walk, IP7 5QD.
The track of the old disused railway in Hadleigh has formed a beautiful dog-friendly path that weaves through the woodland and meadows of the Babergh district countryside.
Dogs are allowed off the lead on this route but owners should be aware of the cyclists that also sometimes use this track.
