An historic hotel and restaurant has submitted an application to put outdoor seating outside its premises.
The Great House Hotel in Lavenham has put forward proposals to Babergh District Council to place seating at the front of the restaurant, overlooking Market Place.
Documents show the area for the seating sits to the right of the entrance and measures 4.6 metres by 2.5 metres.
There would still be sufficient space for pedestrians to pass.
The table and chairs would be outside from 8am until 11pm.
Previously owned by Colchester Zoo directors Dominique and Julie Tropeano, the historic venue was taken over by Onur and Derya Ozcelik in January.
"The beauty of the building, the reputation of the previous businesses, the memories in people’s minds and the place it has in the heart of the community, all create a legacy we are very passionate to carry forward," said the pair, who previously owned The Swan pub in Long Melford.
"We are really chuffed as we had nothing but very happy customers so far."
