A prominent east Suffolk museum is in search of a new voluntary chair for its charitable trust.
Ex-chairman of Woodbridge Tide Mill Charitable Trust, John Carrington, will step down next year after an eight-year tenure, leaving a vacant position at the helm.
The new chair would initially join as vice chair on the board of Trustees, before taking over at the annual general meeting in June 2025.
The trust is in charge of the operation and preservation of the Grade I-listed Tide Mill Museum.
This unique establishment stands as the UK's sole tide mill producing flour and welcomes visitors daily from April to October.
It also boasts an educational programme for schools and students.
The chair's duties extend to overseeing the volunteers and staff who manage the mill.
They will agree on activities and events, maintain compliance with rules, and manage fundraising efforts.
In particular, they would aid in liaising with those providing grants and ensure the charity's mission of preserving the Tide Mill's rich historical connection to Woodbridge is achieved.
They aim to offer a heritage experience that educates, inspires and entertains its visitors.
