Plans for eight flats and two shop units in Haverhill have been given the seal of approval.
Applicant Mr Fawad Rahimi submitted plans for land at Empire Yard at Brook Service Road in Haverhill to West Suffolk Council in January 2023.
The proposal includes a three-storey building with eight residential flats, four with one bedroom and four with two bedrooms.
It also proposes two small retail units are created at the site and includes a roof garden.
The site is located behind units that front High Street and opposite the bus station and Jubilee Walk car park.
Concerns raised by three local residents included a lack of parking provision or means to service the shops, as well as 'overbearing' and 'over massing' fears for neighbouring buildings.
A report by council officers stated the application had been amended several times to address concerns raised by officers and the town council.
On Friday, August 2, the plans were approved by West Suffolk Council planning officers.
The applicant now has three years to begin work on the development.
