A primary school has been praised for its early years learning and SEND support as it retained its good rating following an Ofsted inspection.
The education watchdog visited Beaumont Community Primary School in Durrant Road, Hadleigh, on March 26 and 27.
The school, which has 79 pupils aged three to 11, was rated good in September 2018, and this latest inspection confirmed it has retained its rating.
In a report published on May 13, the primary school was described as "highly inclusive" and inspectors said children in early years "thrive".
They found the youngest children make a "flying start" and are taught clear expectations immediately, with "exceptional" learning behaviours.
Pupils are said to benefit from enrichment beyond the curriculum with school trips described as "thoughtfully planned to enhance their school experience."
The curriculum has been developed across all subjects and the early reading curriculum was praised.
Inspectors wrote: "Many pupils join this school at different points during the year. A number of these pupils are either new to the country or have not previously attended school regularly.
"On arrival, the school checks pupils’ learning quickly. When required, pupils receive extra support."
Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) were found to receive "good support" with plans in place to identify and help them access the full curriculum.
Inspectors said the school has adopted a new behaviour approach which "encourages pupils to think about their behaviour and learn from their mistakes."
Staff were said to "feel valued by leaders" and appreciate the school's investment in their own professional learning.
Inspectors said that in a few areas there is "inconsistency" in the way the curriculum is taught.
They found that, to improve, the school should "further develop its teaching expectations of the curriculum content across the curriculum."
They also said on occasion some staff do not follow the school's newly-implemented behaviour policy with consistency, and added that the school should continue to develop this to ensure a "clear and consistent approach across all classes."
The school was rated good, which means it will typically be revisited once every four years.
