Parents were left "speechless" after prices for their after-school club which their children attend were put up in an "administrative error".
After going to book their child in for the sessions at Coldfair Green Community Primary School in Knodishall, near Leiston, parents discovered the price for the club had gone up by 140%.
The sessions are run by an external company called Premier Education.
Angela Randall, a parent at the school, was one of the parents who discovered the new pricing.
She said: “It certainly was a surprise. It was all set up saying it was £12 for the session.
“The parents all started chatting about it. We all knew about it before the letter came out through the school saying prices had increased.”
Prices for the sessions had initially risen from £5 to £12.
After apologising to parents, it is understood sessions will now be priced at £7. The company said it was an "administrative error".
A spokesperson for Premier Education said: "All prices are reviewed annually and in full collaboration with each of our valued partner schools, to ensure they are agreeable for all parties, especially parents and guardians.
"We are pleased that the administrative error which caused the incorrect price to be displayed has now been rectified and we are happy that parents are now booking on as usual."
However, Ms Randall believes the company should have anticipated backlash from the decision.
“Their mistake was not thinking they were going to have a backlash,” she continued.
“I did not know how they expected us to let that slide.”
Another parent, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "I found out when I tried to book in for the after school club this week.
"There is not even a reason for the increase. I am literally speechless."
"All together it is a really significant increase. It is sizeable in comparison to my mortgage payment."
