Motorists are experiencing heavy delays due to the emergency closure of a lane of the A14 on Orwell Bridge after a bridge joint was found in "a potentially unsafe condition".
A lane of the westbound carriageway of the A14, south of Ipswich, was closed at around 9pm on Friday, following an announcement by National Highways.
The lane remains closed and drivers are being forced to merge into a single lane before reaching the bridge.

The AA traffic map currently shows delays of around 15 minutes and drivers are advised to find alternative routes.
A spokesman for National Highways said: "We appreciate the impact this will have on the local community but taking this course of action is necessary to ensure all road users remain safe whilst travelling on our road networks."
