A 33-year-old man who was found with a multitool with a blade at a west Suffolk police investigation centre has been handed a suspended prison sentence.
Luke Perry, who is of no fixed address but of the Bury St Edmunds area, appeared before Suffolk Magistrates' Court in Ipswich.
He was charged with possessing a blade or sharp-pointed article in a public place after an incident at Bury St Edmunds police investigation centre, in River Lane, on October 7 last year.
A court listing said Perry was found to be in possession of a multitool which contained a blade.
Perry pleaded guilty to the charge when he appeared before magistrates at court.
He was handed a jail term of eight weeks, which was suspended for nine months.
Perry was also told to pay costs to the Crown Prosecution Service of £85.
The blade he was found in possession of was forfeited and destroyed, the court listing added.
