Four homes and a flat could be built at a redundant ambulance station in Haverhill in new plans before a council.
Proposals for land next to Yerrill Garden off Burton End have been submitted to West Suffolk Council.
The plans for the former St John ambulance station site include four new semi-detached homes and one flat over garages.
A statement before the council said the design of the new homes would "respect that of the immediate existing dwellings near the site".
The car parking would be to the south of the site with two spaces per home and electric car charging points.
The access would be a re-use of the existing access off Burton End with a 5m wide private drive constructed and the provision of low-level planting.
The statement reads: "This proposal seeks to enhance the immediate locality and the wider area by providing a replacement dwelling of high quality design and materials, to reflect the character of the area and meet the demands of modern living.
"It will also contribute to the sustainable housing of the area."
