Evening services were disrupted after a person was hit by a train between Suffolk and Essex.
Just after 4.30pm on Friday, Greater Anglia said trains from Liverpool Street to Norwich, Liverpool Street to Clacton-on-Sea, Liverpool Street to Colchester Town, Liverpool Street to Harwich Town had been cancelled.
The incident happened between Witham and Ipswich.
At around 5.50pm, Greater Anglia confirmed that all lines had reopened.
A spokesman said: "All lines have now re-opened following an earlier line closure.
"However, there are still residual delays and some amendments affecting our services whilst we try to get trains running to their advertised times again."
Passengers have therefore been warned to allow extra time for their journeys.
