A person was taken to hospital after being hit by a train.
Just after 4.30pm on Friday, Greater Anglia said trains from Liverpool Street to Ipswich had been cancelled due to a person being hit by a train.
The rail operator said the incident happened between Ipswich and Witham.
A spokesman for British Transport Police said: "We were called to Colchester station shortly after 4pm on Friday following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Officers attended along with paramedics and a person was taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious."
At about 5.50pm, Greater Anglia confirmed that all lines had reopened.
