A family raised thousands of pounds in memory of a dad at a charity music night at a pub in Kesgrave.

On what would have been his 80th birthday on Sunday, September 22, the family of Tom Davey held a raffle and auction to raise £3,800 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association at the Bell.

In 2018, Mr Davey lost his six-year-long battle with the disease that claims the lives of more than 2,000 people per year.

As part of the night an auction of 23 items were on offer, including hampers, afternoon teas, tickets for Al Murray at the Regent's Theatre, a signed Ipswich Town pennant and tickets to see to the Tractor Boys take on Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in December.

Andy Ottley, a musician who performs as an Elvis tribute act, also performed on the day.

This is the third time the family have organised an event in Mr Davey's memory at the Kesgrave Bell and expressed their thanks to everyone who donated.
