More than 40 business bosses took part in a de-stressing walk and networking session on Ipswich Waterfront last week.
The Balance for Business networking event - organised by Rachel Good - took place on Friday, September 27 and was hosted by A-Listers bar and restaurant.
It included leaders from Ipswich Town Football Club, Turnball Infrastructure representing Sizewell C, Suffolk New College, Ashtons Legal, Prettys Solicitors, Barclays and Larking Gowen.
"The Balance for Business Wellness walks are not just about physical activity - they are an opportunity for participants to engage in meaningful conversations while enjoying the benefits of fresh air and exercise," explained Rachel, who is a business development manager at A-Listers.
"By stepping away from their desks, business leaders can foster connections that enhance both their personal and professional lives.
"The walks emphasise the importance of mental health, encouraging individuals to take proactive steps to prevent burnout.
"The ultimate goal is to provide a space where participants can recharge and return to their work with renewed energy and focus."
Rachel - a working mum in the early stages of launching her own wellness venture - decided to create a series of networking events aimed at the business community.
She invites guest speakers to share insights related to wellness, business, or charitable efforts.
"In today's fast-paced business environment, the pressure to perform can often lead to burnout among professionals," she said.
"Through this initiative, I hope to cultivate a community where well-being is prioritised, ultimately leading to more resilient and successful businesses."
Attendees listened to a presentation from guest speakers Daniel Billson and Clare Lucas - trustees of social charity ActivLives - and went on a wellness walk.
Daniel and Clare highlighted the importance of fostering wellness within the community.
Event sponsors We Love Coffee provided coffee and takeaway hot drinks for the walk.
The turnout to the second event of its kind showed the growing interest in wellness initiatives, said Rachel.
