A dog has been found dead by fire crews in a village pond.
Crews from fire stations in Elmswell, Bury St Edmunds and Princes Street in Ipswich were called to an animal rescue in Great Ashfield, mid Suffolk, at 7.51pm on Saturday.
When they arrived they found the body of a Border Collie in a pond in the village.
The crews spent nearly two hours at the scene using rescue equipment to try to retrieve the dog.
They recovered the body of the dog at about 9.30pm.
