Visitors are set for a wail of a time when "Suffolk's scariest house" opens its doors once again for its Halloween guests, marking the 10th anniversary that it has been welcoming the public.

This year, Lorrie Thackeray has created an extra surprise for unwitting visitors to his home at 54 Peterhouse Crescent in Woodbridge - a pneumatic jack-in-the-box, while he has also upgraded a monster in a box prop to make it more unpredictable.

Mr Thackeray has been inspired by his mother overcoming bowel cancer to raise money for charity Bowel Cancer UK when his home welcomes visitors on October 30 and 31.

A page has also been set up on the fundraising website gofundme in aid of Bowel Cancer UK.

To celebrate a decade of opening his house, Mr Thackeray has also created a special birthday cake, which may contain a few surprises of its own.

"And we are now going to be open on October 30 and 31 to celebrate our 10th year."

In previous years, the house has also featured bodies in the bath, a pumpkin ghoul and a moving zombie, along with an array of monsters and chainsaw-wielding killers.

There is also a maze in the back garden.

In previous years, approximately 250 visitors have stopped by the Woodbridge house, where entry is free, although donations to charity are welcomed.
