The body of a porpoise has been discovered on an east Suffolk beach.

The marine mammal was found washed up in old Felixstowe on Monday evening.

The porpoise was injured around it's mouth and was described as being between four and five foot in length.

The team issued a reminder to the public that porpoises, dolphins and whales come under the crown and incidents should be reported to the coastguard.

It is advised to not interfere or approach marine life under any circumstances. If they are distressed and injured, it is likely they will bite if frightened.
