Do you want to visit a pub with a fire this autumn? Well, we have found five must visit places in Suffolk. 

1 - The Sweffling White Horse 

This pub has a range of ever changing ales, and ciders from small local sourced breweries and during the colder months it also stocks a range of warming winter drinks including special mulled wine. 

This pub offers a wide variety of different events including live music nights and a knit and natter club during the day. 

In the cold months the lounge and bar are heated by large wood burning stoves, which is perfect for dark and cold autumn days.

2 - The Ferry Boat Inn 

Originally built in the 15th century for the ferry master, the pub has breathtaking views across the River Deben come rain or shine. 

This pub offers private bookings for parties, functions and extra large bookings. It has accommodated wedding breakfasts, anniversaries, birthday parties, memorials and even Christmas parties. 

It has a wide range of foods on its menu, which includes a range of fresh fish  caught the same day at Felixstowe Ferry.

Opening times:  Monday to Sunday 12pm to 2pm, Monday to Saturday 6:30pm to 9pm and Sunday 6pm to 8:30pm. 

3 - The Crown

This pub offers regional produce while consciously creating dishes to cater to the tastes of its guests. 

It prides itself on a welcoming atmosphere, a fantastic menu and luxurious accommodation. 

It also offers spectacular views of the surrounding countryside and a toasty log burner to take away the chill of a cold autumn night.

​4 - The Carriers Arms

This pub with its pink exterior dates back to the 14th century and is family run  with original features including a large fireplace and beamed ceiling. 

It is a dog friendly pub so after a lovely autumn walk around the village visitors can enjoy traditional pub food made with the finest local ingredients. 

The pub also has a 5* food hygiene rating and a log fire so guests can enjoy their food and stay warm on cold autumn days.

Opening times: Wednesday to Saturday 12pm to 11pm, Sunday 12pm to 6pm. 

5 - The Fox Inn 

This pub was awarded Suffolk’s Pub of the Year at Eat Suffolk Food and Drink Awards and has featured in the top five Woodbridge restaurants on Trip Advisor for many years. 

The building dates from the 16th century and has the atmosphere of a traditional village pub with a warming log burner and original wooden beams. 

On the pub's website you can find local walks for a cold, autumn day which end at the pub where you can warm up by the log burner and a nice warm plate of food.
