There were heavy delays on the A14 at Orwell Bridge after a car crashed into the central reservation.
Police were called at around 6.58pm on Friday to reports of a single-vehicle collision.
On arrival, officers found that the car had crashed into the central reservation and it had lost a wheel.
Lane one of the eastbound carriageway was closed due to the vehicle blocking the way.
Officers were at the scene and recovery cleared the scene at around 8.30pm.
The road is now clear and traffic is flowing normally.
