A family has paid tribute to their “kind, cheeky and insightful” son as an inquest into his death came to an end.
The inquest of Finley Clark has been ongoing at Suffolk Coroners’ Court in Ipswich since Monday. Mr Clark died on November 13 at the age of 23.
On Friday, the jury concluded that Mr Clark had died as a result of misadventure. His struggles with drugs were heard during the inquest.
Mr Clark’s mother, Lucy Knight, paid tribute to her son, speaking on behalf of herself and his father, Dean Clark.
“Finley was a profoundly beautiful person inside and out. He was sensitive, kind, cheeky, insightful, brave, intelligent, and strong,” Ms Knight said.
“Unfortunately, Finley went through some really traumatic experiences in his young life, which sadly led to him starting to search for answers in all the wrong places.
“The day we lost Finley, our lives were ripped apart forever, and we would give anything to have him back with us. Finley is so deeply missed by so many.
“Our thanks go to everyone at the court for their support through this incredibly difficult time.
“Rest in peace, darling Finley – you will live in our hearts forever.”
Mr Clark’s partner, Olivia Tindall, also paid tribute to him. Speaking after the inquest, she described Mr Clark as being a sweet, affectionate and deeply sensitive man who cared for his friends.
“Everyone liked him. He could connect with anyone, with people on the top rung of society to the bottom, from doctors to homeless people,” she said.
