"This event is a great opportunity to celebrate achievements and discuss ways to further promote the use of sustainable transport options."

Mr Powell revealed that almost 49% of passengers now use buses, coaches and trains to travel to and from the airport, the highest modal share since before the Covid pandemic.

He also announced plans for the introduction of contactless payment options for Stansted Express users, further simplifying sustainable travel.

The forum also featured discussions on the importance of collaboration between the airport, transport operators and local communities and updates on the airport's £1.1billion transformation plans.
