Nottingham Knockers have reportedly been visiting people's homes in parts of Suffolk.
The doorstop callers are targeting properties in and around Haverhill, Sudbury and Long Melford.
These individuals are claiming to have been in prison and are on a youth offending scheme, attempting to mend their ways.
Then they go on to try and sell everyday household products at very high prices.
They work in groups across the country to pretending to be working on behalf of a charity, to support their family or that they are ex-offenders working as part of a rehabilitation scheme.
These groups are also known as Nottingham Knockers or duster sellers.
Many of these groups however do not possess Pedlar's Certificates which are issued by police and allows a person to sell goods door to door in the UK for up to 12 months.
Trading Standards advises residents to refrain from buying at the doorstep and not to buckle to pressure from salespeople offering supposedly one-off, buy it now low prices.
They may still be in the area or could have moved on elsewhere in the county.
