A Christmas gingerbread village complete with life size figures is set to bring some festive fun to a Suffolk town this December.

Whisstocks Place in Tide Mill Way in Woodbridge will host the scene across Saturday, December 14 and Sunday, December 15.

Whisstocks Square will be decorated with painted life size gingerbread house frames in front of tents and gazebos imitating a gingerbread house.

Clare Lightfoot, the organiser of the event, said: "I feel proud that an idea I spoke about has actually caught on and everyone is getting excited about it.

"Running on a tight budget and lots of energy is great! It shows how people can work together for the community.

"The vibe is just wanting to make people smile in an old fashioned way and gingerbreads do that to people."
