Hadleigh boy Jude McDougall hopes to swim with dolphins

Jude McDougall suffers from a rare muscle disease called Nemaline Rod Myopathy, which affects one in 50,000 people and affects all parts of his body. 

The six-year-old, from Hadleigh, loves animals and has a dream to go on holiday and swim with dolphins. 

Jude wants to go on holiday and swim dolphins (Image: The Marquis) To help Jude in his bid to achieve that ambition, Steven O'Leary, owner of The Marquis in Layham, has chosen to fundraise for Jude. 

"He has had to deal with a lot but is resilient and is just amazing," said his mum, Michelle. 

"He is resilient, bubbly, very cheeky, strong-willed and smart."

As a result of his condition, Jude has been in two comas and has complications with his lungs and heart.

This will mean he needs support for undertaking such a trip. 

A total of £10,000 will need to be raised to help Jude, with £2,000 already clocked.

The hotel is looking to generate the money through a prize draw, which will take place on New Years Eve.

Prizes included in the draw are dinner, bed and breakfast at The Marquis, full day spa experience for 2, a hamper with products from Natura Bisse and Oskia and a festive hamper with luxury food and drink from Suffolk suppliers.
