Former Ipswich Town forward Frank Nouble has helped Yeovil Town win the National League South title.

Mark Cooper's side won 2-0 at Truro City last night to secure their immediate promotion back to the National League after just one season in the sixth tier.

This promotion caps a remarkable turnaround for Yeovil after issues off the pitch with the club's ownership only a year ago, when a sale fell through and staff and players went unpaid.

However, in May 2023 they were taken over by the locally-run Hellier Group and have been crowded champions with two games of the season remaining, nine points clear of second place Chelmsford City.

Nouble joined the Glovers last summer after spending the 2022/23 season with Torquay and Colchester United.

Prior to his move to Huish Park, the forward was back at Playford Road to train with the Town U21s while he was looking for new club last summer.

The 32-year-old has played in every league game this season, scoring 13 goals for Yeovil in all competitions, and has played a key role in their first promotion since 2013.

In total, he scored five goals in 60 games for the Blues after signing from Wolves in January 2013 and departed Portman Road to join Coventry City in 2015.
