Ipswich Town: Vaclav Hladky on looking at the Championship table

The Blues currently sit third in the table behind Leicester City and Leeds United, although they boast a game in hand on both teams ahead of their return to action against Hull City on Saturday evening (8pm).

Many supporters watched their promotion rivals in action earlier this week, and Hladky revealed that he often does the same, although it doesn’t take the focus away from what Town have to do to earn a place in the Premier League.

“If you’re not on a matchday or something like that, where you want to be focusing on yourself, you’ll obviously have a look at the table because it’s going to the end,” he said. “It’s a natural thing for everyone.

“For me, personally, it’s easy. I can’t look into the heads of the other lads, but as a team, I think there’s no disruption.

“We played well [v Middlesbrough], we went for the win, especially in the first half. We played on the front foot and we tried to kill the game early on.

“I don’t see any problems in terms of looking at the other results.”

A three-match winless streak isn’t ideal for Ipswich, though their top-two rivals also struggled earlier in the run-in.

That being said, Hladky is adamant that he’s seen enough from the team in the last two games to suggest that they can do what they need to do between now and the end of the season, regardless of how Leicester and Leeds do in their final games.

If the Blues win their last three matches, they will be promoted - it's all in their own hands.

“I don’t know about the other teams, but from our point of view, I’ve seen good performances,” he explained.

“I don’t think we’ve got too many issues, so we just want to stay on it and do exactly what we’ve been doing all season.

“I don’t see any big troubles.”
