Ipswich Town played out a thrilling 3-3 draw away at Hull City. Alex Jones provides his player ratings from the MKM Stadium.
Vaclav Hladky
Nothing he could do about the first two goals, but certainly an argument that he could've held the initial shot from the free-kick that led to the third. Really good distribution. A difficult game for him, facing seven shots on target and making some good saves. 6
Axel Tuanzebe
A tough task facing Fabio Carvalho and Jaden Philogene, and a first-half booking made his task even harder. Lost quite a few duels and left some space behind him, but made some good defensive actions. 6
Luke Woolfenden
May be frustrated that Liam Delap got between him and Cameron Burgess to equalise, but little he could've done about the others. Made an excellent decision when he set up Omari Hutchinson instead of going for goal, which ultimately saw Town go 2-1 up. 7
Cameron Burgess
Hit the post and generally made a nuisance of himself. Physical, impressive on the ball and strong in the air, but had the same frustrations as Woolfenden. 7
Leif Davis
Now onto 18 assists for the season, having set up Hutchinson’s second. Created five chances and constantly bombed down the left. If he lost the ball, he always worked hard to immediately win it back, and often managed to do so. Pulled up with a rolled ankle towards the end. 8
Sam Morsy
A pretty sharp performance overall, but made to pay for a mistake on the ball that led to Hull’s equaliser. He’ll be frustrated by that, but the way he dictated play and imposed himself was impressive. Sometimes a little too aggressive - lucky to get away with an elbow to Fabio Carvalho’s head. 7
Massimo Luongo
Some really nice moments on the ball, but Hull really tested him off it, particularly in the second half after he picked up a yellow card. Handled the pressure well. 7
Wes Burns
Seemed a little hesitant to reach full pace when running, but was a constant threat and set up George Hirst’s opener. He’ll be huge for the final two games. 7
Conor Chaplin
Quiet, unfortunately. Came close from a trademark free-kick, but nothing seemed to fall for him. He’ll be frustrated by this run of form, especially at this point in the season. 6
Omari Hutchinson
Exceptional. Completed the most dribbles, won the most fouls, gave Regan Slater a really tough time in 1v1’s and scored two excellent goals. They were similar but equally as impressive, curling the ball in from distance - one hitting the top corner and one hitting the bottom corner. 9 (Man of the Match)
George Hirst
Clearly been missed, as good as Kieffer Moore has been since returning to Suffolk. His movement was exceptional and gave Town a more agile option when going long. A good finish for the goal. Given that this was his first involvement since suffering that hamstring injury on Boxing Day, he was really, really impressive. 8
Sub: Jeremy Sarmiento (62')
Another strong cameo. Showed his pace and aggression. A physical presence in the final third, and he never stopped running. Left everything out on the pitch. 7
Sub: Kieffer Moore (62')
The game didn't really suit him, but he showed some bright glimpses. Came close to scoring after a quick turn shortly after coming on. Marshalled well by Hull's defenders. 6
Sub: Jack Taylor (76')
Got into some really good areas, but just lacked the end product to really get Town into a position to kill the game off. 6
Sub: Lewis Travis (76')
Came in as a like-for-like replacement for Massimo Luongo and largely did what he needed to do. 6
