Ipswich Town have agreed a six-figure fee with West Brom for defender Conor Townsend, according to reports.
The Daily Telegraph's John Percy broke the news on X, adding that the 31-year-old is having a medical at the Blues today after a £750,000 fee had been agreed,
We understand those reports to be correct, but that the fee will be lower - in the region of £500,000.
Left-back Townsend has played more than 200 games for the Baggies since arriving from Scunthorpe for a reported £1.5m fee back in 2018.
The 6ft defender started his career at Hull City, and has also turned out for Grimsby, Chesterfield, Carlisle and Dundee United.
If the deal gets done, Townsend would project to be the back up to nailed-on left back starter Leif Davis, one of Town's best players over the last couple of seasons.
He would be Town's sixth signing of the summer so far, with Omari Hutchinson (£18m), Ben Johnson (free), Jacob Greaves (£15m), Liam Delap (£15m) and Aro Muric (£8m) already in the door.
The Blues are currently in Germany for a week-long training camp ahead of friendly games on Friday and Saturday.
