Ipswich Town Women's boss Joe Sheehan said it was a "really important three points" his team picked up as they beat Hashtag United 2-0 in Felixstowe this afternoon.
The Tractor Girls ran out victors over last season's runners-up thanks to goals from Lucy O'Brien and Sophie Peskett.
Manager Sheehan said: "It was a really important three points.
"They are an awkward team to play against. They can change their shape from game to game, sometimes they are aggressive with the ball and sometimes they aren't so it's an awkward team to prepare to play against.
"They've got some really good players as well and it's never an easy game when we play them.
"It was about playing in the space that is available and being really strong out of possession, and I think we were just that today and it meant we picked up a really important win."
This was Town's first home game of the season, playing in front of a crowd of 631 fans.

Sheehan added: "It's great to be back.
"We've played here for some time now and there was a really great atmosphere."
Charlotte Fleming, who captained the side for the second time, said: "We knew going into the game, it was always going to be a tough game.
"It was going to be a physical battle, and it was going to be a case of which team wanted it more and we wanted it more on the day.
"I think Lucy (O'Brien) and I dominated the midfield.
"We really controlled the tempo of it which allowed our attackers to go and do the rest.
"Out of possession, we won our battles."
Fleming was one of the club's seven signings over the summer and says she's settled really well with the team.
"It's the best team I could ask for," she enthused. "The best staff, the best bunch of girls who have helped me settle in.
"It feels like one big family and to win games with this group there's not a lot more I could ask for."
