This weekend is the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup, so Ross Halls takes a look at which former Town players are looking to help their sides progress to the first round proper...
JAMES NORWOOD AND JOE GARNER
The ex-Blues duo now play for National League side Oldham Athletic, who they joined last season and currently sit eighth in the table.
Micky Mellon's side host fellow fifth tier side Halifax Town, who they faced last month in the league, with the game ending in a 1-1 draw.
Norwood scored 28 goals in 88 games during his time at Portman Road, while Garner netted 10 times in 32 appearances for Town.
MYLES KENLOCK
The full-back joined Barnet on a three-year deal this summer, having spent most of last season at fellow fifth tier side Ebbsfleet United.
The Bees also have keeper Nick Hayes in their ranks, who was released by Town this summer, and they host National League South side Chelmsford City, who have current Town youngsters Osman Foyo and Woody Williamson on loan.
Kenlock made over 100 appearances for Town after joining the youth set-up from the London-based Kinetic Academy.
MACAULEY BONNE
The forward joined Southend United this summer after his release from Gillingham and has another ex-Blue, Darren Currie, as a first team coach at Roots Hall.
The National League side have just entered the competition at this stage and travel to Eastleigh, who are managed by former Town keeper Kelvin Davis and play at the same level.
Bonne netted 12 times in 46 games during his loan spell at Portman Road from QPR in the 2021/22 season.
BRETT MCGAVIN AND FRANK NOUBLE
The duo now play for Yeovil Town, who are back in the National League after winning the sixth tier title last season.
Mark Cooper's side travel to Chesham United, who were promoted to the National League South last season after winning the Southern League Premier Division South title.
Nouble notched five goals in 60 games for Town, while McGavin made 11 appearances, after progressing through the youth system at Portman Road.
DYLAN CROWE, TOMMY HUGHES AND ROSS CRANE
The trio all play for National League North side King's Lynn Town, who travel to Curzon Ashton. They were beaten 2-0 at home by them in the league in September.
They helped the Linnets reach this stage after they beat Worksop in a replay 4-3 in a penalty shoot-out, with the game ending in a goalless draw.
The former academy graduates made a handful of cup appearances for the Blues.
ANTHONY GEORGIOU
The winger returned to England to join fifth tier side Wealdstone after spending last season at Enosis Neon Paralimni in his native Cyprus.
The Stones host Gosport Borough, who play in the Southern League Premier Division South.
Georgiou made 13 appearances for the Blues during his loan spell from Spurs in the 2019/20 season.
DOMINIC SAMUEL
The forward plays for Ebbsfleet United, who travel to Maidstone United, who reached the fifth round last season, famously beating Town 2-1 at Portman Road.
They still have former Town youngster George Fowler in their ranks, who was part of the side that impressed during that cup run. He made one appearance for the Blues.
Samuel made six appearances for Town during his loan spell from Reading before he joined Blackburn Rovers on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee in the summer of 2017.
MATT WARD
The forward joined Woking after his release from the Blues this summer, following a successful trial at the fifth tier side.
Michael Doyle's side host Slough Town, who play in the division below.
Ward made one senior appearance for the Blues, coming on as a substitute in the FA Cup against Buxton in 2022.
ALBIE ARMIN, JACK MANLY AND FRASER ALEXANDER
The trio all play for Suffolk side Leiston, who host higher opposition in Dagenham & Redbridge.
The Suffolk side have won three games to get to this stage and last reached the first round proper in the 2008/09 season.
The former academy graduates made a handful of cup appearances for the Blues.
TOWN LOAN PLAYERS
Ryan Carr could feature for Gateshead as they travel to Hednesford Town, with the game streamed on BBC iPlayer, Red Button, and the Sport website and app.
Finley Barbrook and Edwin Agbaje will look to help Sutton United progress as they travel to Chertsey Town, who play two levels below.
Leon Ayinde travels with Rochdale to fellow fifth tier side AFC Fylde, while Charlie Binns is also on the road with Bishop's Stortford as they face Braintree Town.
