Ipswich Town winger Wes Burns believes that his side need to cut out their mistakes if they’re going to continue to pick up points in the Premier League.
The Blues are yet to earn a victory in the top flight this season, but picked up four points from a series of draws before their 4-1 defeat to West Ham.
Games against Manchester City and Southampton were decided by self-inflicted goals, as was the game at the London Stadium, where the Hammers pounced on sloppy moments at the back to punish Town before the October international break.

Burns doesn’t believe that the consequences are necessarily more severe in the Premier League, but hopes to see an improvement in the coming weeks and months,
“The mistakes we made weren’t great,” he said after the defeat to West Ham. “Even at Championship level, we got punished with them last season.
“I think it’s amplified even more this season, with the quality that they’ve got, they possess in wide areas.
“They capitalised on us being a little bit sloppy at times.”
That result means that, as mentioned, Ipswich’s wait for a first victory goes on. The external narrative is one of concern for their survival hopes, but Burns is adamant that the squad are simply focusing on taking each game as it comes.
“It’s not really something that we focus on, to be honest,” he argued.
“We have a process for every game. We know that, if we stick to our processes, that win will come eventually.
“It’s not something that we worry too much about.”
