Ipswich Town defender Harry Clarke has seen his own goal against Brentford awarded to Yoane Wissa following an appeal.
Rushing forward for the Bees' second goal, the DR Congo international got his shot on target as Clarke rushed back to try and clear it off the line. The right-back made contact with the ball before it went in, but couldn't prevent Wissa from making it 2-2.
At the time, it was listed as a Clarke own goal, although Brentford launched an appeal to have it given to Wissa as his fifth of the season.
The Premier League confirmed that their Goal Accreditation Appeals panel - consisting of three experts - reviewed the footage and determined that it should be credited to the attacker. Mikkel Damsgaard has also been given the assist as a result.
Although it means little for Ipswich in the grand scheme of things, it softens the talk surrounding Clarke's full Premier League debut, where he gave away a penalty for a foul on Keane Lewis-Potter before picking up a second yellow card to get sent off.
This means that Clarke escapes the unwanted title of becoming the second player in history to score an own goal, concede a penalty and be sent off in the same Premier League match
Fantasy Premier League [FPL], however, have confirmed that there will be no change to the points totals of Clarke, Wissa and Damsgaard, as they can only be altered up to an hour after the full-time whistle of the last match in the gameweek.
