Ten years ago today, Noel Hunt scored a dramatic winner on his Ipswich Town debut at Charlton Athletic in the Championship.

The Irishman had just been signed on loan from Leeds United a few days earlier, when Mick McCarthy named him on the bench for the game at the Valley, which was live on Sky Sports.

Hunt came off the bench in the 84th minute with the game goalless, but a few moments later he suffered a nosebleed after a clash with André Bikey which required treatment and a change of shirt.

He then took centre stage when, deep into injury time, David McGoldrick crossed a ball into the box which was half cleared and fell to the debutant, who took a touch before hitting a low shot across keeper Nick Pope and into the corner of the net.

It was his first league goal in over two years and brought incredible scenes in the away end, before he ran over to celebrate with his brother Stephen and the rest of the players on the Blues’ bench.

A great moment for the player, who had a tough spell at Elland Road, but brought some of my favourite celebrations in an away end.

The Blues' went second in the Championship after this result - and another memorable moment from this game was when Luke Chambers swore live on TV praising Hunt during the post match interviews!
