Food and drink are a massive part of the Suffolk Show with the Adnams Food Hall showcasing the very best sausages, beers, wines and cheeses produced here in the ‘bread basket of England’.

This year, there are more caterers and food stalls than ever before and heere we list nine that you must try when you stop by the The Adnams Food and Drink Experience and Food Hall.

Found in the ‘yellow zone’, the food hall is a regular fixture at the show. It’s your chance to sample the finest local produce and even make up your very own show picnic.

Musks

Try the original Newmarket sausage from Musks – one of a clutch of foodie Royal Warrant holders in Suffolk. The bangers are made traditionally to a recipe created in 1884 by James Musk, and use the best traceable pork shoulder meat, local bread and secret spices. As well as the original variety, Musks make a version with Aspall cyder, gluten-free sausages and even some with reduced fat content.

Nibble Nose Cheese Co

Waxy truckles of cheese that shouldn’t melt in the (fingers crossed) sun during the show. Flavours include orange and whiskey, smoked and chilli.

Thursday Cottage and Jules and Sharpie

Luscious jams and curds from Thursday Cottage – let’s hope they bring their new varieties to the show, including a wonderful sour cherry curd or chocolate and orange curd.

Cleverely sharing the stand is Jules and Sharpie who offer hot, sweet chilli jellies. They go brilliantly with cheese.

A Head 4 Wine

Wine expert Graham will be selling a variety of popular wines and asking show-goers to have a go at ‘Rioja roulette’. Can you tell the difference between a £5, £10 and £15 sample?

Hadleigh Maid

A family-run chocolate company known especially for its mallow whips, made of special recipe mallow coated in a very very thick layer of chocolate.

Their latest invention is mallow teacakes (the ginger based ones are lovely) and they should also be selling their popular Woodland Folk, animal-shaped moulded chocolates, which will keep youngsters happy.

Flicks Fancies

Especially known for their stonkingly good sausage rolls, made from free-range pork and beef.

Flavours include Ploughmans (Old English pork sausagemeat, homemade pickle, apple and cheddar), and The Wally (beef sausagemeat with smoked chorizo and gherkin).

The Giggly Pig

These guys make sausages in around 75 different flavours (no, they won’t have that many at the show) from free-range, outdoor reared, rare breed saddleback pork. Tempting flavours have included hickory smoked, Welsh dragon, Toulouse and Italian olive and herb.

Stoke Sauces

There have been a few new launches from this Suffolk brand recently. They include dressings (including mango and orange) and a sweetly spicy curry ketchup which would be perfect alongside a hot plate of chips! Their mayonnaise is amazing.

Syms Pantry

Ever tried bacon jam? If not, give it a try at the show. Made by cooking down bacon with a mixture of sweet additions and spices, it is a savoury goo that begs to be smeared on cheese on toast or anything really. The range also now includes bacon ketchup and bacon mayo.

Need something to wash that lot down with?

As well as Adnams, try DJ Wines, Dedham Vale Vineyard and Aspalls, all available at the show.

The Suffolk Show takes place at Trinity Park on Wednesday, June 1 and Thursday, June 2. Gates open at 7am each morning. See more here
